Site visits to ESS and Max IV – 12th December 2017

The December 2017 meeting of ESFRI will be held in Lund on December 13th at the Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art, Finngatan 2, Lund. On the afternoon of December 12th site visits to ESS and Max IV-laboratory are offered for all delegates. A bus will pick up visitors at the University main building at Paradisgatan 2, corner Kyrkogatan, at 12.00.

14:05 Site Tour
15:15 Take off to Max IV
15:30 -16:45 Coffee at Max IV with introduction to the facility followed by a tour of the synchrotron.
16:45-17:00 Bus back to hotels and University building
The return is scheduled around 17.00. On the evening of the 12th a dinner will be served at the Lund University main building (Paradisgatan 2), starting at 19:30.

Best connection to Lund is via Copenhagen airport, where you can take the train to Lund. (http://www.oresundstag.se/en/timetables/). Tickets are sold in machines or over the counter at the airport. The train takes about 45 minutes. From the station it is a short walk to Finngatan 2, Biskospgatan 3, or Paradisgatan 2.

There are several hotels in the centre of Lund. The major ones by the railway station are Hotel Lundia (Knut den store torg 2), Grand Hotel (Bantorget 1), Hotel Oscar (Bytaregatan 3), Hotel Bishops Arms Lund (S:t Petri Kyrkogata 7). Further out from the centre are several large hotels, Elite Hotel (Scheelevägen 27) is next to Max IV and ESS.
