Launch of the 2018 ESFRI Roadmap on Research Infrastructures in Europe
On September 11th, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) will present the 2018 ESFRI Roadmap on Large Scale Research Infrastructures during a half-day conference in Vienna. The venue will be the Aula der Wissenschaften and the event will run from 12:00 to 18:00.
The ESFRI Roadmap identifies new Research Infrastructures (RI) of pan-European interest corresponding to the long term needs of the European research communities, covering all scientific areas, regardless of possible location.
The 2018 Roadmap consists of 18 Projects, with a high degree of maturity, and 37 Landmarks, RIs that reached the implementation phase. Since 2006, ESFRI has presented a series of updated Roadmaps supporting a coherent and strategy-led approach to the development of pan-European research infrastructures, which would ensure that scientists in Europe have access to world-class facilities enabling them to do cutting-edge research.
ESFRI Chair, Giorgio Rossi will present the 2018 ESFRI Roadmap. During the event, invited participants will discuss about the prospects and challenges posed by the new Roadmap. The event's agenda will be available later in July, and prospective participants will be invited to register for the event. This conference is part of a series of events marking the Austrian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. It is organised by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research, in close cooperation with ESFRI and the European Commission. Please note this is an INVITATION-ONLY event.
