The next ESFRI Forum Meeting will be held in Krakow, Poland. There will also be IG, SWG and EB meetings. ESFRI members may log in to register for the event, find the agenda and info regarding the venue, social events and accommodation.

All the meetings on 19-21 June will be organised in the Old Town historical centre of Krakow, as shown on the map below. They are within walking distance from the Krakow main railway station (Kraków Główny).

SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre

The National Synchrotron Radiation Centre (SOLARIS) and the Cyclotron Centre Bronowice (CCB ) Research Infrastructures are shown on the ESFRI2 map, together with the Krakow airport and the Krakow main railway station as reference points.

Visits to SOLARIS and CCB

On the 20th of June all the Delegates are cordially invited to visit the newly constructed Research Infrastructures in Krakow: SOLARIS (studies with synchrotron radiation) and CCB (hadron-therapy) and to participate in the social programme.

A guided tour to the Jagiellonian University Museum is booked for 12:45. The ESFRI Forum members, who will be present in Krakow on Monday evening, can choose a guided tour on Monday at 18:00. The Monday tour is aimed at the IG, SWG and EB members, who will not be able to join the tour on Tuesday.

Transport from the Collegium Maius to SOLARIS will be organised at 14:15 for the Delegates participating in the guided tour to the Jagiellonian University Museum and in the meetings at Collegium Maius. Other Delegates are advised to come to SOLARIS using a taxi or public transport.

The visit at SOLARIS is planned for 15:00 –16:45 and at CCB for 17:15 –19:00. The ESFRI social cocktail and dinner at the Biała Róża restaurant will start at 19:30. Local organisers will take care of the transport from SOLARIS to CCB and from CCB to the restaurant.

How to reach Krakow and its Old Town historical centre?

There are several international flights per day to and from the Krakow airport (KRK) in Balice. You can consult the web page:

The most convenient ways of the transfer between the Krakow airport and the city centre:

A typical price of a fare from the airport to the city centre is 89 PLN (22 Euros).

A ticket price is 9 PLN (approximately 2 Euros).

Some hotels offer transport from and to the airport. Within the town there is very good public transport.

If it happens that you come to Krakow by train, the railway station Kraków Główny is located just outside the Old Town historical centre (see map 1).
