ESFRI EoE Workshop on Horizon EU Preparatory Phase and Funding
The online Workshop on Horizon EU Preparatory Phase and Funding, organized as part of the Exchange of Experience (EoEs) series, was successfully completed on Monday, November 15th, 2021. The event brought together 120 representatives of ESFRI RI projects and RIs on various stages of the lifecycle process, providing a platform for exchange of experiences, dissemination of best practices and invaluable lessons learned amongst the RI community.
The EoE workshop provided insights on the overall ESFRI roadmapping and landscaping processes, the RI lifecycle and the project monitoring process. The Horizon Europe support to Preparatory Phase projects was discussed in detail, including the funding opportunities and requirements about service orientation and the integration of user communities.
A series of thematic Panels followed by a comprehensive Q&A session presented the challenges and opportunities arising from Horizon Europe, such as the need for stakeholder commitments and the complementarities between national and EU instruments, the socio-economic impact, the requirements for plans related to data access and data management and the provision of RI services. Moreover, various legal issues were discussed, focusing on the identification of the most appropriate legal structures (ERIC, private legal entity, etc.), Intellectual Property Rights (IPR), as well managing partnerships and procurements and HR matters.
The video recording of the workshop will soon be available via the ESFRI YouTube channel.
