ESFRI Chair Highlights Key Global RI Priorities at ICRI 2024
José Luis Martínez Peña, Chair of ESFRI, actively participated in two pivotal panels at the International Conference on Research Infrastructures (ICRI 2024), held in Brisbane, Australia from December 3-5, 2024.
On December 4, he moderated the panel "Greening Research Infrastructure", featuring esteemed speakers discussing sustainability and environmental strategies for RIs. On December 5, he joined the panel "ASEAN: Exploring New Opportunities for Research Infrastructure Collaboration", emphasizing the importance of global partnerships.
ICRI 2024, hosted in the Asia-Pacific region for the first time, attracted over 420 in-person participants and 500 online attendees from across the globe. Discussions covered Indigenous Knowledge integration, digital innovation, and fostering global collaboration to address critical challenges like climate change and public health.
